Style Secret #1

I’ve finally done it. I’ve been talking about having a fashion blog for weeks now, and have FINALLY gotten around to putting up my first post.

Most of my friends love my clothes (and so do I), and often ask me why I’m always (or nearly so, anyway) fairly put together. I have a few secrets that I’ll be sharing, but the most important one (hence its place in the first post) is fit. I only own one or two items of clothing that don’t fit well, and those are buried as far in the back of my closet as possible.

That being said, I have loose, flowy tops, skin-tight pants, boyfriend jeans, and fitted sweaters. However, if an item of clothing is obviously too big, it does two horrible things: 1) It makes you look sloppy – like you don’t care about your appearance –  and 2) YOU know it’s too big and that you look sloppy, so your self-esteem drops and you hate your clothes. Or at least, that’s what happens to me, unless of course, it’s an off-day and I’m spending all day in my pajamas. This is apparent even when you’re just wearing a t-shirt and jeans.  See?

See how depressing it can be (I was also having technical difficulties - excuse the excessive seriousness)?

Additionally, if your clothes are too small, they create rolls of fat when there are none there - I've had to take back at least one pair of pants that created a muffin top when I didn't have one! Clothes that are too tight will usually add at least five pounds visually.

So, your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to go through your closet and throw out (or hide from yourself) EVERYTHING that doesn’t fit you properly. And here’s a fun outfit for the day. Kisses!

  3. Erin, you're right, that's totally what I was going for, especially with the first t-shirt/jeans combo. I still won't wear the second t-shirt/jeans combo unless I'm cleaning house or something, but at least it fits.

Kecia, thank you! Yours looks cute too :-)
