Brilliance - Day 27

Recognize my skirt? I’ve got a confession to make (that you might have guessed already) – it’s a dress. This dress, as a matter of fact.

I was trying to figure out a new way to wear it ( which was surprisingly hard) because I felt like I was getting into a rut: I either wear dresses with cardigans or as skirts under shirts. I wanted to turn this one into a skirt, but didn’t want to use either of those methods, and then…BRILLIANCE STRUCK!

I realized that, because the top of this dress is just ruching – I could probably pull it down to make it a skirt. In fact, I'd planned on trying that trick with my white strapless dress, but ended up doing something different, which you can see here. But I decided to try the high-waisted skirt thing with this dress, and it worked beautifully.

This is one of my very favorite outfits of the 30 x 30 – I feel like it’s the most creative, AND it’s pretty. What do you think? Does this dress convince you as a high-waisted skirt? I had to add the belt to it because otherwise I think it would have looked weird, but I think I pulled it off.
