First Day of School

I'm sooooooo glad school's started again. Weird, I know, but I get restless and irritated when my schedule isn't set - it's much easier when I know that I have class and office hours from 9:30 - 4:30. I get so much more done!

This is what I wore. I try to keep the first day of school pretty simple, since first impressions are so important. I want to be cute, but I also don't want to be "the crazy English teacher." I also want to be professional so that my students won't think that they can walk all over me (I set them straight pretty much immediately, but I'm young, so it happens).

I figured a simple black dress would be good, and I'd just gotten these suede pumps from Urban Outfitters (one of my favorite stores) so I was dying to wear them. Paired them with the little cardi and earrings with both colors and voila! Exactly the look I was going for. I tend to be a fairly conservative dresser that adds cool (or crazy) shoes, so I felt like this captured that nicely.

And yes, I have an enormous purse. I use it instead of a backpack or briefcase - I can fit five classes worth of papers AND a couple of textbooks in there. I've had it three years, and it hasn't broken yet!

Hope you like everything! Kisses!

  2. Thank you! I'm glad you like everything so much! I'm a firm believer in "the shoes make the outfit", especially when it's something basic like this.
