Copycat! - Day 21

This particular outfit was inspired by Kendi Everyday – twice! I combined both of her ideas and came up with this:

I'm an original, I swear! I put my own spin on the two ideas - I was just inspired by her! Geez.

First of all, we own the same pair of coral pants from the Gap – proof that they’re some of the most versatile pants ever. I was browsing her 30 x 30 outfits when I saw this (an outfit with a royal blue top and the coral bottoms) and thought “Hm. I have those pants! And I have a cardi that’s the same color, and a tank that matches the cardi. I can sort-of recreate this!"

Then, a few days later, I saw this post on her blog with the same royal blue shirt, but this time she’d styled it with white pants and…a scarf as a belt! I love scarves, and I really like the idea of using one as a belt, especially as it’s currently a million degrees outside. I also felt it was a nice way to add visual interest without belting the cardigan, like I do practically every day.

I figured that with such a bright outfit it'd be best to go with dark, neutral shoes, hence the brown heels. I also felt that this outfit needed gold accessories to warm it up and go with the coral. The fact that I had a pair of earrings that matched it perfectly had nothing to do with it. Really.
