Subtly Sexy - Day 23

So, I believe I’ve mentioned before how much I love this shirt. One of the reasons I love it (aside from the color, pattern, shape, and lightness of fabric) is its neckline – this wide almost boat-neck can be centered (like in my other post), or pulled off one shoulder for a slightly sexier look, like so.

I personally love looks that show off the back and shoulder(s) – it’s one reason why I love strapless tops and dresses so much. I feel like it’s a great way to be sexy but still tasteful, and it’s also more subtle than tons of cleavage or a skirt cut up to the ass. I wish I could pull off backless stuff, but sadly that requires some very special types of undergarments that I don’t possess.

Speaking of one-shoulder tops, what do you guys think of showing a bra strap when you wear them? I personally don’t mind, but I try to coordinate it so that the straps are colored and look more like tank top straps. The one in the picture here IS actually a tank top with a similarly colored bra under it. I don’t really like going strapless with one-shoulder tops because (being fairly well-endowed) I get the dreaded saggy-boob, which really isn’t a great look.

As for the rest of this outfit, I really like it – this is one of my favorites so far. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the ruffled skirt with the ruffle-hemmed top – I was afraid there’d be too many ruffles – but I think it ended up pairing nicely. What do you think?

Kisses!

  1. Yep, I got the no bra one-sidedness myself. and my advice...for making sure there's the bra intervention...is the same as yours...find a tank top to cover it up, make it match in case it shows!

I actually have a shirt very, very like yours. it's a completely different color and pattern, but the same cut, AND it's my favorite..you have inspired me to wear it MANY different ways!

  3. This is a pretty color combo! I like how you took a flowy top and gave it structure with the belt.

  4. Thanks! I wore it without the belt a few times and felt that it needed something else.
